"VAN" (Sports Desk - 05.05.2026) :: The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is pleased to announce that a new international research survey – supported by FIH and EuroHockey - examining the barriers and support systems for women in high performance hockey coaching has now been officially launched, with participants from around the world being invited to take part. The study, titled “Barriers and Support Systems for Women in High Performance Hockey Coaching: A Quantitative Ecological Study on Career Intentions, Attrition and Identity Factors”, aims to develop a comprehensive, evidence-based understanding of women’s pathways and experiences within elite coaching environments. The project is designed to inform future strategies that enhance access, retention, and progression for women in high performance coaching roles across global field hockey. By contributing to this research, participants will help shape a clearer understanding of the realities faced by women in high performance coaching and support the development of a more inclusive, sustainable future for hockey worldwide.
