"VAN" (Sports Desk - 31.03.2026) :: A week on from the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Poland, the world's best athletes are turning their attention to the outdoor season and the 2026 Wanda Diamond League campaign.

Eight reigning Diamond League champions won medals in Kujawy Pomorze, including Mondo Duplantis and Julien Alfred.

With the indoor season done and dusted, the sport's biggest stars have now begun plotting their path to the Wanda Diamond League Final in Brussels on September 4-5.

Fresh from a championship record and fourth world indoor title in Poland, Mondo Duplantis added Lausanne to his 2026 WDL campaign.

World indoor bronze medallist and reigning Olympic 100m champion Alfred will take on world champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden in Silesia in August.

Long jump world indoor champion Agate De Sousa is set to face a world-class field in Stockholm in June.

Fellow long jumper Simon Ehammer, who broke a hepathlon world record at world indoors, will join fellow Swiss stars Audrey Werro, Angelica Moser and Ditaji Kambundji in Zurich.

World champion Kambundji will also be part of a world-class women's 100m hurdles field in Xiamen, which includes Olympic champion Masai Russell, Diamond Leauge champion Ackera Nugent and world record holder Tobi Amusan.

The Xiamen men's 400m too will see a clash between the Olympic, world and Diamond League champions, while the men's 5000m also includes multiple global medallists.

US sprint star Noah Lyles has confirmed his first Diamond League appearance of 2026, with the six-time series champion set to return to Rome for the first time since 2019 in June.

Meanwhile, Great Britain's Josh Kerr will attack the mile world record on home soil in London in July.
