La Línea de la Concepción awarded 2026 European Rowing Coastal & Beach Sprint Championships

"VAN" (Sports Desk - 30.04.2026) :: The European Rowing Board has confirmed that La Línea de la Concepción, Spain, has been awarded the right to host the 2026 European Rowing Coastal & Beach Sprint Championships.

The Championships will take place in September 2026 and combines both Beach Sprints and Coastal Endurance at the same venue. The European Rowing Beach Sprint Championships will be held on 16–17 September, followed by the European Rowing Coastal Championships, organised in conjunction with the Spanish National Coastal Championships, from 18–20 September.

La Línea de la Concepción previously demonstrated its organisational strength by successfully hosting the Coupe de la Jeunesse in 2025, and the venue’s coastal setting provides an ideal stage for both Beach Sprints and Endurance Coastal Rowing.

"La Línea de la Concepción has already shown its organisational strength and commitment to rowing, and we are delighted to return to this outstanding coastal venue for the 2026 European Rowing Coastal & Beach Sprint Championships," said Asunción Loriente, President of European Rowing. "Bringing together the European Championships alongside the Spanish National Coastal Championships will create a vibrant festival of our sport. I would like to sincerely thank the Spanish Rowing Federation, the Cádiz Provincial Council, and the City of La Línea de la Concepción for their dedication and for securing additional support at late notice to make this event possible."

The 2026 European Rowing Coastal & Beach Sprint Championships will bring together Europe’s leading coastal rowers and further showcase the continued growth and popularity of Coastal Rowing and Beach Sprint Rowing across the continent.
