Fixtures confirmed for ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Sub-Regional Qualifier A in Cyprus

"VAN" (Sports Desk - 07.05.2026) :: The fixtures for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Sub-Regional Qualifier A have been confirmed, with 10 teams set to compete in Cyprus from 16 – 23 May 2026 as part of the qualification pathway to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028 hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

The tournament will see Austria, Croatia, Cyprus, France Cricket*, Guernsey, Jersey, Malta, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland battle across eight days of T20 international cricket, with matches played across two grounds at Happy Valley in Limassol, Cyprus.

Teams will be divided into two groups of five, before progressing to cross-over play-offs, including matches to determine final placings and the eventual tournament winner.

A crucial step on the road to the Men’s T20 World Cup

The Europe Sub-Regional Qualifier A represents the first stage of the European pathway towards the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028. The winning team will progress to the Europe Qualifier which will take place in 2027.

Across the global pathway, teams compete through regional qualification structures for a limited number of places at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which features 20 teams, of which 12 have secured their spots already via their performance at the 2026 edition, or their T20I Ranking.

Two further European Men’s events this summer

Qualifier A is one of three sub-regional events taking place across Europe in 2026.

Europe Sub-Regional Qualifier B will be hosted in Denmark from 8–14 July, and will involve Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Gibraltar, Hungary, Norway, Romania, Serbia and Türkiye.

Europe Sub-Regional Qualifier C will be hosted in Finland from 14–21 August, and will consist of Bulgaria, Czechia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Isle of Man, Israel, Luxembourg, Portugal and Spain.

Together, these tournaments form a critical part of the European qualification structure, offering 29 emerging cricket nations the opportunity to progress on the global stage.

With competitive balance improving across the region, the Sub-Regional Qualifiers continue to showcase the rapid growth of cricket in Europe. The Cyprus event will provide a platform for both established and emerging teams to compete at an international level, with high stakes and World Cup progression on the line.
