- The Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee (Brisbane 2032) is moving from vision to action, with a founding commercial partner announced and increasing engagement across communities, all helping to strengthen the long-term impact of the Games, according to the latest update to the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s Coordination Commission (CoCom).
"VAN" (Sports Desk - 12.05.2026) :: Discussions during the fourth annual CoCom meeting, held online this week, highlighted how the recently launched Games vision – co-created with Queenslanders and Australians – is now being applied in practice, guiding progress from “belief” in the opportunity to the Games “becoming” a reality.
Speaking about the latest updates, the Chair of the IOC CoCom, Mikaela Cojuangco Jaworski, said: “The launch of the Brisbane 2032 vision has been an important milestone, setting a clear, shared direction for the journey ahead. What is particularly encouraging is that we’re already seeing this vision in action, with engagement across sports, communities and partners, reflecting a genuine commitment to building these Games together. This early momentum is also reflected in the depth and detail of the planning underway, laying the foundations that will support Brisbane 2032 in delivering Games aligned with their long-term vision and ambition.”
Following the meeting, Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee President Andrew Liveris said: “We are progressing at pace, moving from vision and planning to delivery and action. Our Games vision is in place, and our supplier portal is open, with more than 2,500 businesses registered to date. The Commonwealth Bank of Australia has been announced as our sole founding partner and the first domestic commercial partner for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Community engagement across Queensland and beyond has also reached thousands of excited fans.
“At the same time, venue and legacy infrastructure delivery is well underway – led by the Australian and Queensland governments – and our broader Games Delivery Partners are continuing to plan for what will be an incredible home Games in just over six years’ time.
“Our focus ahead includes unveiling our emblems, announcing more commercial partners, finalising our sports programme and venue master plan, and amplifying our engagement across businesses and communities.
“Brisbane 2032 thanks the leadership of the Coordination Commission for their continued support, coupled with our Games Delivery Partners for their collaboration, as we pursue our path towards 2032.”
