"VAN" (Sports Desk - 17.09.2025) :: Fast bowler Vivian Kingma of the Netherlands has been banned for three months after he tested positive for a recreational drug following a test conducted after the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 ODI in Utretcht on 12 May. The 30-year-old tested positive for Benzoylecognine (a cocaine metabolite that is specified as a Substance of Abuse under the ICC Anti-Doping Code), at an in-competition test following the match against the United Arab Emirates at the Sportpark Maarschalkerweerd ground. Kingma admitted the offence and was able to demonstrate that the substance had been ingested out-of-competition. As such, Mr Kingma was handed a three-month period of ineligibility, effective from 15 August 2025. If Mr Kingma is able to demonstrate that he has satisfactorily completed an approved treatment programme, his period of ineligibility may be reduced to a maximum of one month. Kingma’s individual records in the ODI against the UAE on 12 May and other matches he played in after 12 May have been disqualified.
