First time in the history of FIFA World Cup; 3 nations & 3 celebrations on the occasion of Opening Ceremony

This marks the first time in history that the tournament is divided among three countries, and also the first time it features an expanded 48-team format.

- Mexican-American Academy Award-nominated actress, director and producer Salma Hayek Pinault to take the pitch as FIFA World Cup 2026™ Ambassador
- Ryan Castro to join J Balvin on the global stage in a special performance

A dynamic lieup of artists, performers and a FIFA World Cup 2026 Ambassador will welcome the world to Toronto with a celebration of music, culture and football ahead of kick-off.

- Alanis Morissette to perform Canada national anthem, alongside Aleksandar Gajić, performing Bosnia and Herzegovina national anthem
- FIFA World Cup 2026™ Ambassador Will Arnett to join pre-match ceremony
