"VAN" (Sports Desk - 23.07.2026) :: The road to the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2027 continues this month with the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier set to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 23 to 29 July.
Eight teams will compete at two venues – Bayuemas Cricket Oval and YSD UKM Cricket Oval – across five days for the region's single qualification place at the fourth edition of the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup, a tournament that has been won by India on each occasion since its inception in 2023.
The participating teams are Kuwait, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who qualified based on their finishing positions at the 2024 Asia Qualifier, alongside Bhutan, Hong Kong China, hosts Malaysia, Myanmar and Qatar, who secured their places through the ICC Women's T20I Team Rankings as at 30 October 2025.
They will be split into two groups of four; Group A: Hong Kong China, Malaysia, Qatar and the UAE and Group B: Bhutan, Kuwait, Myanmar and Thailand.
The tournament gets underway with the league stage which will be played across three matchdays from 23 to 26 July, with each team playing three matches.
The top four teams at the end of the league stage will advance to the semi-finals on 28 July, while the bottom four teams will contest play-off matches to determine positions five to eight. The tournament concludes on 29 July with the Final, alongside classification matches for third and fourth, fifth and sixth, and seventh and eighth places.
