"VAN" (International Desk - 05.01.2026) :: The Syrian Arab Republic has welcomed on Saturday the call by Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council to convene a comprehensive Yemeni dialogue conference in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, considering it an important step toward prioritizing dialogue as a means to resolve the crisis. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates commended in a statement the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in sponsoring the dialogue and supporting efforts aimed at bringing Yemeni parties together at the dialogue table in a manner that meets the aspirations of the Yemeni people for peace and stability. The ministry stressed that a comprehensive political solution, based on dialogue among Yemenis themselves, is the only viable path to ending the crisis, preserving state institutions, and safeguarding the unity of Yemeni territory. Syria has previously reaffirmed its full support for Yemen’s unity and sovereignty, and its standing alongside the legitimate government in preserving state institutions and achieving the Yemeni people’s aspirations for security and stability.
