"Pensioners need not to visit AGs Office to submit their pension documents, Its to be done by the concerned pension sanctioning authorities": Principal Secretary Finance JK

SRINAGAR, JULY 04: Relieving old age people from the hardships of depositing their pension data at the Account General (A&E) J&K office for fixation of pension under Formulation-11, the State Government today said that the submission of cases for fixation of pension by pensioners/ family pensioners under Formulation-I1 is purely optional and not compulsory, whereas the documents are to be forwarded to the AG’s office by the concerned Pension Sanctioning Authorities/Head of Offices instead of the pensioners/ family pensioners. Principal Secretary to Government, Finance Department, Navin K Choudhary, said the Department has been receiving complaints for last few days that old age pensioners are facing difficulties in submitting their pension cases for revision to Accountant General's office where old age pensioners standing in long queues have been seen for the past few days. Pr. Secretary said circular instructions have been issued by the Finance Department today that the pensioners or family pensioners need not to approach Accountant General's office for submitting their cases for the revision of their pension under the Formulation. “Consequent upon the issuance of rationalization of pension structure for pre 01.01.2016 pensioners/family pensioners vide OM No: A/Misc (2008)-temp-1236 dated: 14.06.2018 concerned Pension Sanctioning Authorities/Head of Offices were advised to furnish requisite information/data to Accountant General (A&E) J&K Srinagar/Jammu for fixation of pension under Formulation-11. However, it has been observed that concerned Pension Sanctioning Authorities/Head of Offices instead of forwarding the cases themselves to Accountant General J&K have been handing over the cases to concerned pensioners/ family pensioners which obviously put the senior citizens to avoidable hardships,” said an order issued by the Finance Department in this regard here today. The order further says, "the issue was reviewed in the Finance Department and it has been reiterated that the concerned Pension Sanctioning Authority/Head of Offices will submit the requisite information/ data to the nearest Treasury, who shall forward the same to the concerned Saddar Treasuries/ District Treasuries". “The Saddar Treasury Officers/District Treasury Officers shall be responsible for depositing the cases of pensioners/family pensioners in the office of Accountant General (A&E) J&K Srinagar/Jammu for formal pension revision,” it said adding that however, it is clarified that submission of cases for fixation of pension by pensioners/ family pensioners under Formulation-I1 is purely optional and not compulsory. The pensioners/family pensioners who are already getting equal or higher pension/family pension when compared to due pension under Formulation-11 need not to submit the cases for revision of pension to Accountant General(A&E) J&K, Srinagar/Jammu, it said.
