"VAN" (Sports Desk - 23.09.2025) :: Fresh from back-to-back victory at the weekend’s Sunset Nationals – round three of the 2025/2026 ANDRA Regional Sportsman Series – Zayne Condello is hoping to continue the winning feeling into this weekend’s Nitro Golf Centre Junior Nationals (September 26-28).
If he can do so, it would be his fourth-straight win at the popular juniors only event, which like the Sunset Nationals, is held at the Atlantic Oils Sunset Strip in Mildura.
Adding to the anticipation for this weekend is the fact that the racing on Saturday (September 27) will also count towards the ANDRA Sportsman Series championship chase for the Junior Dragster and New Gen Business Park Junior Drag Bike brackets.
“The Junior Nationals has always been my favourite meeting and one that I hold close to my heart – in 2022 it was my very first competition event after licensing, and it was the site of my first ever event win!
“I have now won at the 2022, 2023 and 2024 Junior Nationals and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t aiming to make it four in a row! Especially now that it is a part of the ANDRA Sportsman Series.”
“Heading into this weekend it is all about taking things one step at a time, but taking another win would make me not only very happy but also give me a big confidence boost going ahead as I look to chase the ANDRA Sportsman Series championship!”
The 16-year-old certainly has lots of momentum behind him, taking out his second consecutive Sunset Nationals win at the weekend.
“The Sunset Nationals was amazing yet again – our performance was spectacular and after a few changes to the car of late I am really liking how it is performing and it has given me even more confidence and consistency on the tree than ever before,” Condello said.
“It was definitely an amazing feeling to win the Sunset National two years in a row.
“Hopefully we can keep it going into this weekend.
“As we get ready, I would like to as always say some thank yous. Firstly, to my Nonno for absolutely everything he does for not only me, but my entire family. Also to my Nunna, my beautiful girlfriend Ava Walker, Mum, Dad, both of my sisters, Craws Racing, Halfscale Junior Dragsters, and Cleanshot for a deadly combination between the three companies!”
