China sweeps nine gold medals at Diving World Cup Super Final in Beijing

"VAN" (Sports Desk - 05.05.2025) :: China completed a clean sweep of all nine gold medals on offer at the World Aquatics Diving World Cup 2025 – Super Final, which concluded Sunday at the iconic Water Cube in Beijing. Across three days of intense competition and under a dynamic new head-to-head format, Chinese divers displayed commanding form, capped off by Chen Jia’s victory in the women’s 3m springboard and Zhu Zifeng’s breakthrough in the men’s 10m platform. Chen Yuxi and Zhu Zifeng were awarded the season’s Best Female and Best Male Diver trophies after standout performances throughout the World Cup series.

The final day of competition saw rising star Chen Jia edge Olympic champion Chen Yiwen for her second individual title of the season. At the same time, Zhu dazzled with near-perfection to claim his first World Cup gold and top the season’s standings. Their wins followed earlier triumphs by Chen Yuxi and Wang Zongyuan in the women’s 10m platform and men’s 3m springboard events, respectively. The fast-paced knockout-style format added new drama to the traditional events, testing athletes’ consistency and adaptability in front of a full-house crowd.

With strong showings from international challengers including Australia’s Maddison Keeney and Cassiel Rousseau, Italy’s Chiara Pellacani, and Germany’s Moritz Wesemann, the Super Final also offered a glimpse into the growing global depth in elite diving. But in Beijing, the home team once again proved unmatched, reaffirming China’s dominance in the sport as the athletes now turn their attention to preparations for the upcoming World Aquatics Championships in Singapore that starts in July.
