Serbian Rowing Federation’s Full Membership with World Rowing Restored

"VAN" (Sports Desk - 17.02.2026) :: World Rowing has lifted the suspension of the Serbian Rowing Federation, which had been in effect since May 2024, restoring it as a full member federation with all rights and responsibilities in accordance with the World Rowing Statutes and Rules.

As a result of this decision, the Serbian Rowing Federation regains full membership status within World Rowing. This includes the ability to enter crews and officials for World Rowing events, to participate in Congress and governance processes, to nominate representatives to World Rowing commissions, to communicate directly with World Rowing bodies, and to submit bids to host World Rowing events in Serbia.

The decision follows a period of engagement and review, during which the Serbian Rowing Federation worked to stabilise its governance structures and ensure compliance with the requirements of World Rowing membership.

Marko Marjanović, President of the Serbian Rowing Federation, welcomed the decision, describing it as an important step forward for Rowing in Serbia. He reaffirmed the Federation’s commitment to responsible governance, international cooperation, and the continued development of the sport for athletes, clubs and future generations.

World Rowing looks forward to continued collaboration with the Serbian Rowing Federation in support of the sustainable growth and integrity of Rowing in Serbia and worldwide.
