ISSF Athlete of the Year People's Choice Award is open for nominations until 9 November

"VAN" (Sports Desk - 02.11.2025) :: The ISSF Athlete of the Year People's Choice Award, which is given to the athlete most loved by the shooting sport community, is open for nominations, until 9 November.

Fans will be able to vote for whichever athlete they think deserves to be recognised for their achievements in 2025, with the voting process consisting of two stages.

The first of these will collect all nominations on 9 November, creating a shortlist of the five athletes with the most votes.

On 12 November, the shortlist of five athletes will be announced - which provides a second opportunity for fans to vote for their favourite athlete. The second stage of voting ends on 21 November, following the end of the ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol in Cairo, Egypt.

The winner will be announced during the Opening Ceremony of the ISSF World Cup Final in Doha, Qatar on 5 December.

Additionally, six athletes will be awarded Athlete of the Year accolades in men's and women's categories in rifle, pistol and shotgun. This decision to expand the award from two awards - one men's and one women's winner - to six comes after consultation with the ISSF Athletes' Committee, bringing in discipline-specific winners.

These winners will be determined by internal voting from industry experts, including athlete representatives, media, coaches and officials.
