"VAN" (International Desk - 10.05.2023) :: Hundreds of Afghan migrants have returned to Afghanistan from Pakistan this month, according to a statement from Afghanistan’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation.
According to the statement, 703 immigrants living in Pakistan returned to the country through the Spin Boldak crossing in Kandahar province last week.
Ninety-four returnee families, consisting of 625 voluntary and 51 forced returnees, were reported by the Spin Boldak Border Directorate of the Kandahar province as having returned home after registering with the Immigration Department.
The Afghan migrants came via the Spin Boldak Crossing in Southern Kandahar province. They were referred to the International Organization for Migration (OIM).
Each returnee also received a food package from the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) office.
Additionally, it has been reported that thousands of Afghan migrants have recently returned to Afghanistan from Pakistan and Iran. Some refugees returned home voluntarily, while others were compelled to leave their host country.
Most migrants have left the country since the Taliban retook control due to persecution, lack of employment, and security concerns.
In addition, most people in the country struggle with several issues, including extreme poverty, hunger, unemployment, and security issues.
