International community annexed Kosovo and Metohija, Croatian President

"VAN" (International Desk - 31.01.2023) :: The international community has annexed the international Serbian region of Kosovo and Metohija, President of Croatia Zoran Milanovic told reporters Monday.

"We have annexed Kosovo - we and the international community. It was taken from Serbia. Who did it, if not us - we did recognize Kosovo, after all? […] I’m not questioning Kosovo itself, but the entire concept," Milanovic said, noting that the gist of the issue does not change, regardless of whether it is called "annexation or expropriation."

"I’m questioning the entire concept, in which someone thinks that they have the right. Crimea is the same story: Crimea will never be Ukrainian again. This is what leading German generals say," Croatian President said.

The UN Security Council resolution 1244, adopted on June 10, 1999, confirms that the autonomous region of Kosovo and Metohija is a part of Serbia. In February 2008, regional authorities unilaterally declared independence. Over 60 countries oppose the recognition of the region’s independence, including Russia, India, China and 5 EU countries.
