"VAN" (Sergey Topychkanov - Russia) :: Apple has announced the division of iOS into two parts. The iPhone and iPod will retain the original "name", but the version adapted to the tablet is now called iPadOS.
What is important, the branch will be independent-just like WatchOS for "smart"Apple Watch, tvOS for Apple TV and MacOS for computers Mac.This was announced by the senior vice president of software Apple Craig Federigi on the opening day of the CONFERENCE WWDC 2019.
iPadOS includes a completely new home screen, in one part of which can be placed widgets (the same as in the "Notification Center"), in the other-application icons.There are new multitasking gestures: if you swipe up a program attached to the side, you'll see a quick switch between windows — in the Exposé style on the Macs.
The files application was also closer to MacOS.Column View was added as in the Finder, and the panel allows you to make small changes to documents without opening them. Also Files are made compatible with flash drives.
Safari browser on iPadOSapproached the computer version. It was provided with a full-fledged download manager, support for 30 new keyboard shortcuts, as well as the ability to adjust text size and change settings for a particular site.
If you don't like the font used in a particular application, iPadOS allows you to change it by downloading another one from App store. Copy and paste has improved: To copy text toiPadOS, you need to put three fingers together (a pinch gesture), and to insert textto part them.
